How it all started

The Aga Khan Hostel in Botad was founded in 1925 under the guidance and blessing of Sir Sultan Muhammad Shah, Aga Khan III, the 48th Imam of the Ismaili Muslims. Established with just five students, the hostel was created to provide a nurturing residential environment for young Ismaili boys, emphasizing both academic excellence and moral development. Rooted in the Imam’s vision of progress through education, the hostel quickly became a cornerstone of the community, offering structure, care, and opportunity for generations of students. Over the years, it has remained a symbol of the Ismaili community’s deep commitment to learning, service, and holistic development.
