A CENTURY OF COMMITMENT AND COMMUNITY - CENTENARY CELEBRATION OF THE AGA KHAN HOSTEL, BOTAD JULY 12, 2025

The Aga Khan Hostel, Botad, marked a historic milestone on the evening of Saturday, July 12, 2025, with the grand celebration of its 100th anniversary—a century of unwavering dedication to education, values, and leadership development.

Held within the hostel grounds, the centenary event brought together community leaders, alumni and students in a heartfelt celebration of the institution’s rich legacy. The gathering was graced by the presence of the Jamati Mukhi Sahebs from both Jamat Khanas and Committee Members all of whom played a vital role in honoring the hostel’s journey.

The evening began with a keynote address by the President, who reflected on the hostel’s origins, growth, and impact over the past hundred years. This was followed by a captivating cultural program featuring student-led performances—including eloquent speeches, stirring songs, and original poetry—that vividly showcased the spirit and creativity of the current hostel residents.

One of the evening’s highlights was an exhibition showcasing articles prepared by students during the “Explore the Unexplored” program. The event featured an impressive array of models and creative projects, all designed and developed by hostel students. These exhibits reflected their innovative thinking and curiosity, earning high praise from guests and community leaders alike.

Adding further significance to the celebration were inspirational speeches by Mohamed Saheb and the Mukhi Sahebs, who commended the institution’s efforts in fostering not only academic excellence but also a strong sense of service and community among generations of students.

As the evening drew to a close, a Centenary Cake Cutting Ceremony was held— symbolizing a hundred years of collective achievements and shared purpose. The presence of past and present leadership made this moment all the more meaningful.

A major milestone of the event was the official launch of the hostel’s new website, www.agakhanhostelbotad.org a step forward in embracing digital progress and expanding accessibility. The launch was jointly led by Murad Bhai, President Saheb, and Vickey Bhai, and was met with great enthusiasm from the attendees. The celebration concluded with a community dinner, where guests shared stories, memories, and aspirations for the future in a warm and festive atmosphere.

The centenary of The Aga Khan Hostel, Botad, stands not only as a commemoration of the past but also as a reaffirmation of its mission to empower young minds.
