Keeping in mind the mission of The Aga Khan Hostel to create value in the lives of students through holistic development, leadership building, and exposure to inspiring role models, the hostel continues to organize programs that acquaint students with the lives and values of great leaders.

In the current academic year, several such initiatives have been undertaken, including the observance of Nelson Mandela Day, Gandhi Jayanti, and Ratan Tata Jayanti, all aimed at encouraging students to draw inspiration from exemplary leaders and adopt their values in personal and professional life.

Continuing this series, the students of The Aga Khan Hostel Botad celebrated the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose on Saturday, 24 January 2026 (in observance of his birthday on 23 January). The program was organized with the objective of familiarizing students with Netaji’s life, struggles, challenges, achievements, and his unwavering love for the nation.

As part of the preparation and to promote research-oriented learning, students were shown documentaries on Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, and relevant history books were made available to help them gain deeper insight into his contributions and ideology. During the program, students actively participated by delivering speeches on Netaji’s life, presenting patriotic speeches, poems, and shayari that reflected the spirit of nationalism. A quiz competition based on Netaji’s life and the Indian freedom movement was also conducted, making the session interactive and engaging. One student added to the spirit of the occasion by dressing up as Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, which was highly appreciated by all.

The program successfully instilled a sense of patriotism, leadership, courage, and selfless service among the students. Such initiatives reaffirm the hostel’s commitment to nurturing ethical, intellectually hardworking, well-rounded, and socially responsible global citizens by learning from the lives of great leaders and role models.
