On 12 January 2026, The Aga Khan Hostel, Botad, commemorated Swami Vivekananda Jayanti (National Youth Day) by organizing an academically enriching and reflective session for students. The programme was led by the Academic Director with the aim of fostering intellectual awareness, ethical reflection, and personal development among students through the study of Swami Vivekananda’s life, philosophy, and enduring contributions to education and nation-building.

The session included the screening of two carefully curated documentaries that presented Swami Vivekananda’s vision on youth empowerment, education, character building, and service to society. Through historical narratives, philosophical insights, and real-life contexts, students were introduced to his ideas on self-confidence, discipline, rational thinking, and social responsibility.

In addition, selected quotes, anecdotes, and incidents from Swami Vivekananda’s life were discussed to emphasize his relevance as a role model for contemporary youth. The interaction highlighted how his teachings continue to inform modern education by encouraging critical thinking, moral strength, and a sense of purpose.

Students actively participated in reflective discussions and shared their learnings, demonstrating a deeper understanding of how Swami Vivekananda’s ideals can be applied to their academic pursuits, personal growth, and future aspirations. The session served not only as a tribute to a great thinker and reformer, but also as an important academic initiative aimed at nurturing responsible, value-driven, and socially conscious individuals.
