Dates: 3rd – 7th June 2025 | Venue: The Aga Khan Hostel, Botad Participants: 60 from The Aga Khan Botad Hostel | 25 from Aga Khan Junagadh Hostel
When 85 young students—60 from The Aga Khan Hostel Botad and 25 from Junagadh Hostel—walked into the gates of The Aga Khan Hostel Botad in early June 2025, they didn’t just step into a new academic year. They stepped into a carefully crafted experience called Lakshya Camp—a five-day program designed not merely to welcome them, but to prepare their hearts, minds, and spirits for the year ahead.

The early days of any academic year carry a weight of uncertainty. For many students, especially those away from home, the hostel experience can feel both exciting and overwhelming. Lakshya Camp was strategically placed at the very start of the academic calendar to ease this transition—not just logistically, but emotionally and socially.

The goal was clear: Before we begin to teach, let us first help our students belong. By offering structured, engaging, and values-driven programming during those first five days, the camp created a strong emotional and social foundation—one that will support learning, confidence, and connection throughout the year.

Beyond Activities:
Cultivating Inner Values At the heart of Lakshya Camp, alongside an engaging schedule and vibrant entertainment, lay a deeper purpose—the nurturing of a meaningful culture. It was a conscious effort to shape how we learn, live, and lead. Through quiet yet powerful moments, Lakshya Camp instilled values that continue to resonate.
Belonging & Brotherhood
Through collaborative activities like treasure hunts, theatre, and team games, students from diverse background and age groups began to see one another not as strangers—but as peers, teammates, and friends. In those moments, silos disappeared and community was born.

Curiosity & Courage to Create
From STEM sessions to resin art, from 3D pens to spoken word reflections, students explored the joy of learning in hands-on, creative ways. They discovered that education is not just about information—but imagination.

Voice & Expression Whether through dance, theatre, or the quiet act of writing feelings on a balloon, children were given space to express themselves—verbally or nonverbally. These moments affirmed: Your voice matters. Your feelings are welcome here.

Well-being & Awareness In today’s fast-paced world, teaching children to pause—to reflect, to understand their emotions, to choose healthy habits—is as vital as any academic subject. Lakshya made space for both body and mind to be nurtured.
The Bigger Picture: Service, Sacrifice & Society The timing of Lakshya Camp during Eid al-Adha was no mere coincidence—it was a powerful reflection of its deeper spirit. Volunteers, educators, and professionals chose service over celebration, dedicating these sacred days to children. They offered not just their time, but their hearts—embodying the true essence of seva and sacrifice in the service of society.
Confidence & Self-Worth The “Royal Dinner” sessions were far more than lessons in etiquette or table settings—they were a symbolic affirmation: "You are worthy of the finest." When a child is treated with dignity and grace, they begin to see themselves through a new lens. That shift in perspective isn’t just emotional—it can be transformational. In those moments of honor, children don’t just learn manners; they awaken to their own value. And with that awakening, they find wings—wings that carry them toward dreams they hadn’t dared to imagine.

A Lasting Impact
The beauty of Lakshya Camp lies not just in what it accomplished in five days—but in what it set into motion for the months to come:
A child who felt nervous on Day 1 left with a sense of community. A child who had never spoken in front of others left ready to take the mic.
A child who had never created art before left holding a handmade magnet or 3D sculpture.
A child unsure of their place in a new environment left knowing I matter here.
This impact is not fleeting—it is foundational. It plants seeds that continue to grow.

Looking Ahead
As educators, caregivers, and community members, we often focus on exams and outcomes. But before achievement comes attachment. Before success comes safety. And before leadership comes love. Lakshya Camp 2025 reminded us that when we invest in the emotional and social readiness of our students, we’re not delaying the academic year—we’re deepening its roots. Because only when a child feels seen, heard, and valued can they begin to truly learn, grow, and lead.

With immense gratitude to all team members, volunteers, and supporters who made Lakshya Camp 2025 possible—your presence was not just noticed, it was deeply felt. Together, we’ve given our children not just a warm welcome, but a meaningful beginning.
