The Parents Orientation Program was organized to strengthen the partnership between parents and the hostel team, with the shared goal of supporting students in their educational and personal development.
As we completed our first semester and the holidays began, parents arrived to pick up their children. We capitalized on this occasion and organized the Parents Orientation Program on 15th October 2025.
President Saheb, Alijah Dr. Dilip Darediya, conducted the session His presence and insights brought great value and depth to the event.
Setting the Tone A Thoughtful Opening
The session began with a warm welcome to the parents who had come to pick up their children for the holidays. Academic Director, Mr. Amin Ladhani, opened the session with a thoughtful story about a butterfly emerging from its cocoon. In the story, a person tries to help the butterfly by cutting open the cocoon, but this act ultimately harms the butterfly, as the struggle to emerge was necessary for it to develop the strength to fly. This analogy beautifully set the tone for the session, highlighting how structured discipline and challenges within the hostel environment are not barriers, but essential components of students' growth—intellectually, emotionally, and physically.

Insights from President Saheb
The core of the session was led by President Saheb Alijah Dr. Dilip Darediya, who addressed the parents with clarity, wisdom, and vision. He spoke about the critical role that both hostel and parents play together in shaping well-rounded, responsible individuals.
Dr. Darediya spoke with conviction about the power of education and the importance of nurturing values such as independence, discipline, and resilience. He acknowledged the collective efforts of the trustees and hostel staff in creating a structured and caring environment that supports every aspect of a student’s growth— academic, physical, emotional, and intellectual.
Dr. Darediya emphasized the importance of hostel rules and regulations, explaining how they are thoughtfully designed to support not just academic excellence, but also the overall development of students. He stressed that these rules instill discipline, independence, and resilience—qualities that serve students throughout their lives.

Dr. Darediya also acknowledged the sincere efforts of the trustees and hostel staff, who work tirelessly to provide a nurturing, structured, and value-driven environment.
Furthermore, President Saheb reminded parents that the holiday period is more than just a break—it is a valuable opportunity for students to reflect, recharge, and return with renewed focus. He encouraged parents to engage positively with their children during this time and reinforce the values they have been learning at the hostel.

Key Takeaways for Parents
The hostel is a foundation for life skills, not just academics.
Struggles and challenges are necessary for real growth, just like the butterfly story illustrated.
Parents and hostel staff must remain united in their approach for the benefit of the child.
The holiday should be a time for reflection, not just relaxation.

Conclusion
The session concluded with parents feeling more aligned with the vision and values of the institution. They left with a better understanding of how their support, combined with the hostel’s structured environment, can lead their children toward long-term success. President Saheb Alijah Dr. Dilip Darediya provided inspiration, direction, and a strong message of unity in purpose.
